Never try this combination!!

I bought a new whey to try it out and mixed it with my N.O. suppliment. I wanted to vomit. Took it back, and got good 'ol Optimum Whey Vanilla flavored.

A lot of diarrhea problems from supplements come from high amounts of magnesium.

First of all, whoever told you banana and lemon went together? :p

Secondly, why are you wasting your money on an NO supp?

And wanting to do something gives it any merit? :p If it's cheap, that doesn't mean it's effective. It may actually be detrimental due to its HUGE spike of blood pressure. Be careful.

Last time I checked, it was my decision to make :p I like it, so therefore I take it. My bp is fine from the last doctor visit I went to not too long ago. Thanks for your concern.

How does it cause a huge spike in BP?

Nitric oxide is a vasodilator, so it should decrease blood pressure...

Technically, a spike can refer to either a positive or negative pressure. Perhaps I should've said "dip" in blood pressure. Sorry about that.

Not to mention that, because of the global vasodilation in the body, you experience a decrease in overall cardiac output, hindering your ability to deliver oxygenated blood/flush out metabolites. Increased plasma volume in the interstitial space also promotes cardiac drift - an increase in heart rate due to decreased stroke volume.

Yeah, it's your choice, OP. The problem is that is seems you've made a choice without understanding its mechanisms. It's not exactly good for you and doesn't have any basis in research. It increases your pump, but that's actually a negative thing when it comes to your heart. *Shrugs* It seems that people just like watching fancy commercials and endorsements and then use supplements based off of that, rather that foundations in reality.

Lol, huh? You're a silly bastard, man. I'm just lookin' out for you wallet and your health. Best of luck either way.

Alright look man. I posted this thread about never mixing the combination because they taste bad, and in your first response, you went out of your way to immediately "recommended" against my use of a N.O. supplement. Just because you don't approve of them or like them or any other reason why you should think they are terrible, is not pertinent to the original statement of the thread at all. If you want to make your suggestions to someone asking whether or not they should take a N.O. supplement then fine, that is your prerogative. Why are you going out of your way to "help my wallet" when I neither asked, nor recommended any kind of financial advise in this area?

And furthermore, I absolutely know the detriments to taking these supplements and I am aware of the basic health standards for my body. Why you continue to derail my original statement of flavor mixing, being pointless as it stands, is ridiculous. I simply made an observation of a combination that tasted bad in a somewhat light-hearted fashion but you incessantly decided it was necessary to derail my original post with some health-wallet related issue you think is best for me because you know about N.O. supplements and their detriments to their body. While I agree you are incredibly knowledgeable about this area, I didn't ask for your advise.

So I suggest unless someone asks for it, mind your own damn business. I don't care if you don't approve of my decisions and if you are trying to save me money. What I am choosing to do in no way affects you whatsoever. Geez, and here I am thinking you were a cool dude but you continually without regard to anything but your own personal vendetta against the supplement industry, feel the need to interject your own opinions about a product in an absolutely pointless thread. Grow up.

Given that this is the health and fitness forum, I think SC's response was appropriate. If someone came in here and mentioned - even tangentially - something they do that seems unhealthy, there is nothing wrong with mentioning that in a reply. For example, there are constantly posts on this forum where people mention trying to "spot reduce", or describe their extreme diets, or talk about some incredibly ineffective workout routine. IMO, even if it isn't the primary focus of the thread, it is completely reasonable to try to help them out by explaining that spot reduction is a myth, that extreme diets usually fail, that there are more effective training routines, etc. If the original poster can defend their decisions, then so be it. If not, then maybe the reply will help affect a positive change. In either way, we all can learn something from it. I do understand your concern about the possibility of the post going totally off topic, but I don't think what SC is writing is that outlandish.

Yeah that's fair. Point taken.

Just trying to inform if you didn't already know. I think putting NO in your body, which is specifically produced by active muscle alone is a bad idea. I wanted to point some things out if you weren't aware. On top of that, I'm not against supplements at all. I personally take fish oil, creatine monohydrate, and fiber. These things all have a basis of improving health in research. I'm against BAD supplements. The lack of regulation in most supplements is frightening, which adds to my wariness about people using them unnecessarily. I'm promoting health and functional athletics here. I'm not promoting any agenda. If reliable research comes out saying NO is the be all, end all of supplements, then I might try it myself. Until then, though, I will rely on my background knowledge in physiological mechanisms to critically think about individual situations.

Either way, man, that's no excuse for you thinking banana + lemon would be tasty :p Oh, and at least you're not asking about test cycles. I guess it could be worse.

Is the N.O supplement you take happen to be super pump 250? I can't seem to take it without some sort of food in my stomach and a ton of water without getting diarhea.

Perhaps you got it due to the sourness of the lemon?
