The main blurb says it covers items up to 90 days if they are accidentally stolen or damaged. It does not cover anything you leave in a public place. Conversation I had was kind of funny...

Guy: Where were your sunglasses stolen from?
Me: I accidentally left them in the cafeteria in my dorm and when I came back to get them they were gone.
Guy: Since they were left unattended we can't cover this.
Me: If something is stolen then most of the time it's because it's left unattended. It's hard to steal something if you're right next to it.
Guy: Well...yes...but unattended in a public place is different than unattended in your house.

Sigh.
 
Damn, that sucks! Anyone got a link to the acutal policy? You may be able to get them on a technicality possibly.
 
Yeah, I pulled out the fine print and it does say that items left unattended in a public place aren't covered, as well as items left in a car, or in baggage not under your personal supervision. Bah.
