Apparently these pyramid-like "matrix" scams are flooding eBay and now we have one of our own in Hot Deals

Dubb tracked down this Wired article explaining the scam.

Most people here would never fall for it, no matter how much they'd like a cheap iPod, but you might keep Dubb's Wired link handy to forward to family and co-workers when they ask you about it or try to get you to join the scam -- if they act fast enough, some of them might be able to get their money back.

Thanks for the heads up. Although I would never be referred to a website from an ebay auction. That's just stupid.

Actually no, they all aren't. I picked up a 10gb 3rd Gen ipod from Freegiftplanet.com for only $43 by signing up for their offers.

aren't these like really really illegal. u'd think the FBI could bust a few since they're so blatant on ebay, instead of taking in evil mp3 pirates who cause billions of dollars in damages
