PS4 slim vs Xbox One S?

Looking at the specs of both the consoles, I'd like to know which one is more powerful in terms of gaming and graphics. I am not into 4k blu ray.

Xbox One S
CPU - 1.75GHz 8-core AMD Jaguar
RAM - 8GB DDR3
GPU - 1.4 TFLOP AMD Radeon @ 914MHZ

PS4 Slim
CPU - 1.6GHz 8-core AMD Jaguar
RAM - 8GB GDDR5
GPU - 1.84 TFLOP AMD Radeon (18CU, 800MHz)

Any help is highly appreciated.

Games are generally going to run better on the PS4

Check out Digital Foundary's youtube channel, they compare how games run on the Xbox One and PS4.

Usually the PS4 looks and runs a bit better. Sometimes the xbox does if the game is cpu limited though. The xbox controller is also better imo.

Both can produce the same level of graphics. The PS4 will maintain frame rates at 1080 more often that xbox. At the end of the day, you won't be able to tell. Even at large screen sizes of 65" it's hard to tell in action. Mainly because you are too busy actually playing the game when things get busy rather than starting to get mad with lower resolutions on the xbox one.

When the PS4/Xbox came out, the PS4 was the clear choice in terms of hardware capability and build. The xbox one s closes much of it, but now with the PS4 Pro only being $400, the PS4 Pro is the wiser choice... that is until next year when it's xbox's turn.

I would say the PS for an odd reason, last gen the 360 was my choice because games where on sale, cheaper then the ps because of bigger sales. Right now I would look at what devs are going to have to do to program for these "NEW" upcoming consoles. Everybody is so hyped on the new powerful ones ( and sony and MS are rubbing there palms together, biting at the bit to get you console guys buying a new one every year instead of every 5 years), but with install bases that are majorly under the current consoles (bone and PS4), devs will make for the main machines and "enhance" those game to the new one. Unless they sell huge and fast it will be awhile till mainstream devs are making game to match the hardware.

It will always be sell through and units. Right now the PS is clearly ahead of the One, Even if MS outsold PS 2 to 1 for the next year it would still be behind in sales. Devs like to sell units, hence more time, effort in the main player.

Of course the old standby works maybe the best, get the one with the games you like, exclusives, as for cross platform, its close to a wash, so as some stated, get the one that you like the controller on.Me i liked the 360 last gen as games where $5-10 on gamefly and Half.com 2- 3 months after release, the same games on the PS3 where $5-10 more.. so this gen the PS4 should be the one for that.
