I was thinking about buying a 40gb for 100 the machine works but the blu ray will not suck in the disc from a friend.

Do you guys think that is a good deal? I was evening thinking that I could fix it on my own, if it is not that complicated.
 
You might consider buying brand new if you can't fix it. I have a cousin that had to pay sony $150 to fix the bluray drive on his ps3. Amazon still has the slim 160gb, ratchet & clank: a crack in time and singstar dance party pack for $300 & $25 gaming coupon. It will also be on their lightning deals today at 4pm pst.
 
true. It was going to be a box for netlix, hulu plus and vudu. My wii is such a piece when it comes to getting wireless signal. I figured the ps3 would do a better job and I can transfer files from windows media/azerus.
 
In that case you can just get a video box like Roku for cheaper. Though with the PS3 you play games you download.
