Look for me online. :D

I loved the beta, so the full game with a bountiful supply of server and no crashes (crosses fingers) thus far has got me giddy.

IGN gave it an 8.8 tonight. Looks like a fantastic game, but a multiplayer-only title can quickly become a waste of money if nobody decides to play it for more than 2 months.

I was in the beta as well and loved it. I plan on buying it, but I want the BR version. Sadly, it won't be in retail stores in my area until tomorrow :(

Did they hate on it for no single player like they did for Shadowrun?

I heard the BR version and the downloadable version take up the same hard drive space...but the BR version requires you to have the disk in the drive...seems like the downloadable version would be better.

Downloadable version can only be used by the account that purchased it and can't be used on more than one machine within 24 hours. The BR version doesn't have that restriction.

I agree, unless you plan to sell or (ugh...) trade the game in for credit.

You know, I'm a bit tired of this aspect of gaming. Why in the world can't they just release games like they do movies... you know, the release date is actually the release date! It seems it's really a toss-up whether or not the release date that you get is actually the ship date and they won't have it until the next day. If it's released, it should be available, but it's not available until the next day.

A bit angry after I went looking for Blue Dragon and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam yesterday :|.

Yes, that annoys me to no end. If it's a highly hyped title like Halo, Gears, Metroid, GTA, etc... the game will be on store shelves on the release date, but if it's any other title chances are you won't see it till a day later. So, of course, when a game isn't on the shelves on the release date store employees just say, "Oh, that's just the shipping date". But, magically, some stores in other parts of the country will have the game and to them it's the release date. Annoying.

Generally speaking, game stores like EB or Gamestop will have the games on the release date (Tuesday). Meanwhile, the big box stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, Wal-Mart, etc) will have new games on the shelves on Thursday.

Eh i don't know what you guys are complaining about. Every date you see on websites such as ebgames and stuff is the "ship date" and it specifically says "Game Ships on X/X/X". They never have it listed as the "Release Date" on their website.

Also this whole generation, games have been releasing retail on Wednesdays where Tuesday has always been the ship date. Some games have made exceptions (like Two Worlds coming out on Friday) but that has been the general way it goes.

And some stores, that are closer to hubs, get the game on Tuesday because it left early that morning and got to the store in the afternoon or so. But generally speaking, a store will always either get the games on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, depending on how far from the shipping hub they are.

It doesn't matter if it's a craptastic game or a system seller. I remember GoW I purcased on a Wednesday and I also purchased some crappy games on Wednesday.

I think its dependent on where you live as well. Near me I've always managed to get new games on Tuesday, but where I went to school they wouldn't receive new game shipments until Wednesday.

That's completely wrong. You don't think stores will have Halo on Tuesday Sept 25th? You bet. In fact, most will have it in advance and some will sell it at midnight. Also, those ARE release dates, otherwise that stores that get them on Tuesday wouldn't be able to put them on the shelves. Also, notice that Warhawk was in the PSN store at 12:01 AM on Tuesday. It DOES matter how hyped the title is and that's our complaint.

Personally, I think stores should receive all their new games a day in advance and they should be on the shelves on the dates listed. As it is now you never know... the game you're looking for might be there, or it might not. The only games you can really count on are the huge ones like Halo 3. They will be there at the vast majority of the stores on the date listed.

Halo 3 is in it's completely own different category though. And in the press release for it's release day they never said it would be "shipping" on the 25th - they said it would be in our hands that day. Even on ebgames.com they have some special note for that game and the whole shipping deal with it.

As I stated above, when you look on sites they show the "ship date".

And putting something out to DL and putting it to ship physical copies in stores is completely different. Warhawk always said on ebgames website "Preodrder: Ships on 8/28/08". I think you guys are just mixing up the ship date w/the release date.

The reason they now give the ship date is cause some stores get games on the ship date and some don't, just depending how far they are from the hub.

Circuit City is one of the few stores that will actually put the "real" release date in their ads, but unfortunately, not all of the games are in their ad. Like for Blue Dragon, the CC circular said "In Store Wed." The thing is, why can movies always be available on their release date yet video games rarely are. It also cannot be a "ship date," because sometimes games come in early, but the store cannot put them out until the release date. I know Crackdown was at the local EB Games before it came out because one of the clerks told me that it was in the back and they put the game out the day it was listed for release.

Where I am, EB Games gets their games the same time that Wal-Mart, Circuit City, etc all do. If the game ships prior to the release date, the game is put out on the release date. If the game is actually shipped on that date, then they won't put it out until they get it.

The point is, if the release date is 8/28, I want to have the game in my hands on that day. I went out and purchased Heroes yesterday because the release date was 8/28... why must I be disappointed and not be able to buy Blue Dragon and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam :(.

There's a number of threads on this game over at AVS and so far the response is VERY positive.

The game is really fun to play .. I downloaded it yesterday and I couldnt stop playing it.

In all honesty, the graphics dont blow me away and the controls are difficult to get used to(especially the tank .. trying to accelerate with R2, shoot with R1 and move the turret with the Right analog is very, very difficult ......). Flying also takes some time to get used and I still suck at it.

Aside from those faults, the maps are very well laid out, vehicles are a plenty so there isnt alot of downtime running from place to place .. and the gameplay is just really addictive.

BTW .. I downloaded my copy, and aside from not getting (nor having) a BT headset, not having to switch between BD's to play this is worth it, and to me, this restrictions rant everyone is on doesnt bother me at all cause I am the only one that plays the game anyways.

So in short .. I know Heavenly Crap is getting the lime-light and Lair is not far behind, but this game has to be one of the most overshadowed games out there right now and after a day of playing, I highly highly recommend it

edit: good link to the AVS thread that was mentioned above .. alot of people giving it really solid reviews
