I'm looking at getting one. Which one I'm not sure so after some research I thought I would ask my good friends here. My wife usualy plays RPG's and I like the idea of COD and shooter games like that. I really like the co-op games. The last console I purchased was the PS2 and I still have some PS2 and PS1 games. I'm not stuck on PS as you can see so. So Please give me your ideas.

Why don't you wait until after the PS3 is released to make this decision?

PS3, it has better graphics, it is more powerful, and the games out now kick the 360's games. but revolution is the best.

Yes, you do. None of us knows much about the PS3 at the moment, and the 360 wasn't released long ago; therefore, none of us can tell you which system to buy.

a new graphics card... oh wait xbox360 prob. I doubt that the ps3 will be release so soon and if it is then the launch will be more rushed than the 360's. Win win anyways?

Actually, it will likely be longer for N. America. Spring 2006 is probably the Japan lauch with the N. America launch coming by next November or so.

I imagine that both will be about equal when it comes to graphics. The difference will be the games and online services.

Best time to make a decison would probably be after E3 2006 when Sony is supposed to officially launch the PS3 marketing campaign.

1. This has been discussed dozens of times, go do a search and you will see

2. There is no point in asking which is better since one isn't even out yet.

3. It won't matter what we say, you have to make these choices yourself. Even if 99% of us say one thing, if you already are set on something else, you won't listen to us, so why even make this thread?

1. Sorry but I was asking an opinion.
2. Very true but I'm just looking at getting the opinion from others.
3. I thought I was clear that I'm open.

Some times I wander why people post a message like this when it does no good. I can understand puting your two cents in but really....

If there are games on the 360 that you want to play, get one now. If you don't like it, you can always sell it and still make a profit.

Then when the PS3 comes out, if it has games that you want to play, then get one of those.

It's all about the games.

xbox is missing a killer app as of now. ps3 is too far in the future. wait till both come out and then decide.

OK, let's just end this thread with this:

Some will say the 360 is here and will have better games out already when the PS3 is just first launching, while others will say that the PS3 on paper looks to be much more powerful than the 360.

That's it. It's like the nVidia/ATI threads back in the day when one was launched and the other was coming out, but looked to be better. You never know until both are in your hands, and NOBODY IN ATOT CAN TELL YOU FOR SURE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER.

Actually, I'd say the killer app for the 360 is Live Arcade. Just too much fun.

Too early to tell.

Depends on your taste in games, but in general, I think that PS3 will have a better selection of games, much like PS2. So if you preferred Xbox to PS2, then get Xbox 360.

However there is a difference this generation. Sony has the technical edge of MS this time. Much larger disc capacity, about double the CPU power, much faster system RAM, but I'm not very educated on the GPU and sound differences.

???? Sorry i don't understand

He's saying that Xbox 360 has actual hardware while PS3 isn't even materialized as a system yet.

That's irrelevant IMO, because you're looking at a next gen system for the next 5 years. It doesn't matter that Xbox 360 is out now with a few crappy launch titles. You should wait until both are out to make a real judgement. Besides, then at least Xbox360 should have Halo 3 (ie good games).

With the research I have done I am still limited as I am not the most knowledgeable with understanding the system specs. (side by side 3 is more then 2 is what I like/need LOL) Of course the game choices are a deciding factor but I don't see my self purchasing 20 some games. If I had to guess I wouldn't get more then 7 to be honest. Most likley less
