PS3 still worth more than retail??

My local store has like 25 of these units are they still worth anything over retail? Should i go buy a bunch and sell them.

Figures... i can't find a damn wii, but they have 25 ps3's.

If your store has 25 of them, you can probably be sure that other stores have them too... they were only worth more than retail when they were OOS.

Target had a couple 60gbs on the shelf last night. The demand for these things had already bottomed out, that can't be a good sign for Sony. Meanwhile, I still can't get a Wii.

Well, when the ps4 comes out, you can wait in line for a few weeks to get a pre-order (actually, i heard some stores allowed you to pre-order as many as 3 units) and PROFIT

2 days before xmas, the manager told the cashier in the electronics section of the store I was in that they just got in a PS3, just get the word out to customers looking for one, they weren't going to bring it out of lock-up. The cashier turned around and said to us, "interested in buying a PS3?" It was the 60GB model; I was tempted to buy it simply to resell on craigslist. I"m glad I didn't. At the going price, it looked like I'd lose 5 or 6 dollars after tax.

People are still asking $900 plus for them at craigslist. I guess some people just hasn't gotten the news. A lot of people will return them if they can't profit from them.

I finally got my Wii yesterday! Got lucky and was in Target at just the right time. They had a good number of PS3's sitting there, but sold out of their shipment of Wiis as I was standing there.

Most ebay listings I have seen recently are going for just a tad over retail, some dont even make it to the cost of retail.

The ones that are going for 100+ more than retail include bundles. I actually find it amusing the people who have a final bid of 635 and fail to make their reserve and put it back up hoping it will somehow grab more money than before

If you're looking to make money, you're better off looking for the Wii. I sold two for nearly $500 each a week before Christmas.

at msrp its outrageously expensive.
which is why it is now sitting on the shelves..
target and walmart both had more than a couple this week here.(on display and in stock)
anyone who could afford one and wanted one got one.
im sure there are plenty who want one and cant afford/justify the price.
im sure there are many who can afford one and have no interest.(they dont want to be THAT guy, the one paid the premium just to say "i got it"



my bold prediction for 2007 is you will see sony drop the price by as much as $200 and or strengthen the bundle with a pack in game and maybe some hd cables.
