PS3 sound clipping on blu-ray

Dont know if I should post here or in audio but my issue is when I watch blu-ray movies the sound clips like a mofo using my soundbar via optical. If I listen to the discs via the tv speakers I get no clipping. The sound bar plays games and TV just fine, its only when I use the ps3 with blu-ray movies. The sound bar is not the greatest but i dont feel like spending more for the bar than the tv. I have tried a bunch of settings on the ps3 but I really hear no difference. The optical to the souncbar is coming from the optical out on the tv so I dont think my tv is the culprit.

Try optical right to the soundbar from the PS3 just to eliminate the potential that the audio is getting mucked with before it hits the output device. Are you trying to bitstream from your PS3 or are you having everything run LPCM?

Go into the PS3 settings and make sure it is bitstreaming DTS and AC3.
