PS3: SixAxis for Dualshock trade in or exchange programs?

I Heard at one point that Gamestop (I think...) was offering an exchange where you could trade in your SixAxis controller and then you could purchase a new wireless Dualshock controller at a lower rate.



Anyone heard of a similar deal through that store or in other stores?

maybe i dreamt the whole thing...

If there was such an exchange, it's probably long over by now. DS3 came out well over a year and a half ago. I wish the controllers were cheaper though after I lost half the parts of my SixAxis trying to paint the casing. lol

I use my SixAxis with games where rumble doesn't matter, to save wear on the DualShock.

I still haven't bought a Dualshock 3. I have 2 sixaxis controllers, and I've thought about buying one a few times, but it's not worth $43 (amazon price) to me.

Same... rumble is the sort of thing that I notice when I have it, but I don't notice when I don't have it. I already have two Sixaxis controllers and I don't need any more.

I don't know of any trade-in programs, but I'd be interested if there are. I'd probably pay for an upgrade.

I'm one of those oddballs who likes the SixAxis for most things on my PS3. The controller is physically lighter and rumble isn't that big of a deal to me for a lot of my games. I have two DS3 and two SixAxis controllers.

never heard of a trade in program for a DS3, just the usual equipment trade in. I had 2 sixaxis and 3 DS3. I traded the sixaxis to Gamestop for a credit of $24, which doesn't sound like much, but was a good deal since it was getting non-responsive and was stuck with the sprint creep from playing COD so much. I think you get $15-$18 now at the most. I just used the credit to buy another game.

I would just wait for a Amazon or Buy.com sale, $35.
