PS3 resets after quitting a game

Hello,

Anyone experience an issue where after quitting a game; the screen hangs a little bit at the exit screen and the PS3 makes a small sound (like three beeps).

Afterwards, it looks like it resets itself and I've to press the PS button on the controller. Kindl of worry something is wrong. Thanks.

Mine does this occasionally, too. I notice it only does this when it gets a little hotter than usual (just before the fan kicks in overdrive). Maybe I'm wrong; it hasn't shown any signs of crapping out on me.....yet. PS3's don't have a high failure rate, though.

i had this issue with my 60gb PS3 and GTA4 when it would hang on Multiplayer games, i think a patch fixed it. Is it on every game? Latest PS3 firmware?

It will do this if you quit the game while it is loading something.

It happens on NHL 09 demo and some disc based games. My firmware it's before the most recent one (haven't been following up).

Not sure if it's the way I'd exit a game. Usually I just pause it and quit, maybe I should exit to the game menu and then quit?

When it happened to me last night, I turned it off while the game was paused via holding the PS button down and selecting "Turn system off".

Try updating to latest firmware and then report back.

That would explain a lot. We all know how Sony console are loading nightmares.
