PS3 - pushing play on Remote control doesn't automatically start playing anymore

Before the last PS3 update: I could have a DVD or BD in my PS3, push the PLAY button on my remote control, and the PS3 would turn on and start playing the disc from where it left off. Easy as pie, perfection incarnate.

Now: Pushing PLAY turns on the PS3. Then I have to watch their #*$&*#&$ ads for new products, navigate left over to VIDEO, navigate down to DVD/BD, then push PLAY.

Is there any way to fix this?

BTW, Fvck you, Sony! Why the heck do I have to see ads in EVERY section (AUDIO/VIDEO/ETC)? If I want to visit the store, I'll go to the store on my own. I am not buying any more DLC until this crap goes away. :|

If you're referring to the "What's New" section, that can be disabled. The PSN Store icon listed under most of the columns cannot be disabled, though.

You can turn off that "what's new" thing or whatever it's called. I don't think you can make the PSN store not appear in every section. It doesn't really bother me, it's just one more button I have to press. Nothing to get all raged up and start a boycott over.
