Ok, this is freakin' moronic. I can buy/rent SD videos (movies) from the PSN video store on my PS3, but I can't watch them via remote play on my PSP. WTF? Am I missing some step here? What's the deal with this moronic restriction?
Q: If I Rent a movie can I transfer it to my PSP?
A: Yes, Rental Content in standard definition format that was originally downloaded onto a PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system may be transferred once by the PSN account that purchased the content to one activated PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system during the Authorized Term. Thereafter, the Rental Content will not be available on the original PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, and no subsequent transfer to any other device including a PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system or a PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system is currently permitted. Rental Content in standard definition format that was originally downloaded onto a PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system may be viewable on only one (1) activated PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system during the Authorized Term. Rental Content in high definition format may be viewed on only one (1) activated PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system.

I don't think you can remote play videos. You have to transfer to the PSP. At least, that is how I read this

Nope, both. That's what I thought, so I bought a movie. Sure enough, can't watch that either on my PSP. :|

Thats retarded. I always wonder if its the company's themselves who make sure odd restrictions or the MPAA licensing that requires them to.

Oh no *cries*...better sell my PS3. What a piece of crap.
The movie service just came out...you can't expect it to be perfect and offer everything you want. It's probably just a security/restriction thing they either can't bypass or haven't gotten to yet.

this is an MPAA restriction IIRC. Netflix and Unbox have some similar issues.
