I'm not concerned with the looks of the system.
I'll be watching the TV. Just so long as the sucker doesnt overheat like the PS1.
(That grill looks hot.)

Yes, never innovate. 2D games were fun as they were, we shouldn't have gone to 3D.

Sarcasm asside, I do like the old controller more than this new hideous thing. Although I've never held it, I could change my mind if it is more comfortable/natural fitting, which wouldn't be a shock vs. the current PS controllers (sharp and sleek but not as contoured and form fitting as the XBox/GC controllers), however I doubt I'll like the feel, because the still have the joystick in the secondary position...what, is Sony still sore about being forced to copy Nintendo with the use of a joystick? Are they still refusing to acknowledge its superior to the dpad in most situations, especially 3D games? Granted it works where it is, it just isn't as comfortable/precise to use as the sticks on the Xbox/GC/n64/Dreamcast...anyways, I like that they're actually looking into designing a better controller, hopefully this is still a possible prototype, otherwise we'll most likely have a PS3 S-controller situation on our hands ;)

We still have a year to see what develops.

are you nutz? PS2 controlers are the most comfortable, easy use, accurate controlers out there. xbox was to bulky, gc and N64 were the WORSTE CONTROLERS EVER, and all though dreamcast controlers were bulky as well, they did have a great gimmic with the add on for it(great for football games).

the PS2 controlers were just perfect, they actually felt just right.

thats my 2cents ;)

The GC controller was only bad from an outside view perspective (wow look how ugly that is), anyone who used it for a decent period of time actually enjoyed the design. The only bad part of the design was the Z button which was put so far out of the way it was practically useless. But most developers also gave it some useless function... like menu.

I hope thats not a slot loading optical drive. I for one will be staying far far away if it is. Overall i dont think it looks bad. It kind of goes with the rest of the sony line of entertainment products.

Why in the world did they switch the controller? The old one was so popular, and by the looks of the new one, no more buttons or controls were added!
