PS3 or 360 PVR capabilities?

Has anyone modded their system to give it PVR duties? If it's possible, I'm thinking about picking up whichever console can be a better PVR. I know the 360 can act as an extender, but that doesn't quite fit the bill.

Damn. I read something about putting MythTV on the PS3, but I couldn't wrap my head around how you'd get a tuner into the mix.

I thought I'd read about a potential add-on for PS3--but thinking more, it might have been non-US market.

In Europe you can do with an addon for the PS3 called PlayTV.

Neither will act as a PVR. You can't mod either to act as a PVR. Neither fits any of the OP's criteria.

Not sure if they updated it for HD or not yet, but yeah, you can run Myth on the PS3.

Considering that you've got to keep your PS3 in Linux mode (eg, no playing games, and probably very little doing anything else given the PS3's lack of system RAM), it seems like a fairly poor solution.
