How long are your average game installs? For instance, I'm installing Dead Nation right now, and it is taking an hour (hell, maybe longer). This is ridiculous. I've noticed they have taken a long time in the past, but recently it just seems like they've gotten longer and longer. Even the inFamous soundtrack, which was 150mb or so, took 20 minutes.

Is something wrong?

I figured. Anything I can do or anything anybody has heard of? Hoping my HDD in it hasn't gone bad.

Just timed Comet Crash at 14 mins. It's a 182mb game. :(

Is your hard drive close to being full? I know my old launch model gets grumpy if I don't leave it a nice free space buffer.

Dead Nation took like 5-10 minutes to install. Sounds like there's something wrong OP.

My infamous D/L (PSN free game) took 5 hours to D/L and around 40 mins to install.

It could be the drive controller or connector / cable going bad I suppose :(

Unfortunately it isn't a PC, so you can't run any health or benchmarking apps.

Something is wrong. I installed dead nation last night and I'm sure it took less than 10 minutes.

Finally decided to pull the damn thing out tonight. Wouldn't even load up inFamous 2, tried to delete the data for it, HDD just stopped working. System froze. Would also freeze when loaded up inFamous 2 instantly from disk. Wouldn't backup data to a drive. Responds enough to backup saves, so I'm doing those and then I will probably get a new drive tomorrow. Scanning for errors now. Hopefully it is just the drive. Never had a WD fail me...this makes me sad.

Thinking about trying the Seagate with 4gb SSD hybrid drive...
