ps3 hdmi, have audio, no video

bought new ps3, new tv. been playing fine with the stock av cable. bought hdmi cable today. plugged it in hdmi 3(also tried the others) and i get audio just fine but no video..

The first thing I would try is holding your finger on the power 'button' for a few seconds until the system resets its settings.
 
I've actually have had this happen to me quite a few times recently. For whatever reason the ps3 didn't recognize my tv, but a power reset let the ps3 detect the tv. Dunno why and I'm too lazy to research.
