PS3 hard drive upgrade: will this improve game performance / saving?

I own a 60 GB PS3 and game loads at times seem slow, saving of game data always is slow, and just got NBA 2K8 and it seems to have momentarily jerkiness in game.

What, other than increasing media storage capacity, would upgrading the stock hard drive to something like Western Digital Scorpio 320 hard drive do for me?

nothing. nba 2k8 on the ps3 had some framerate issues. upgrading the hard drive will make no difference.

the same with 5400rpmvs. 7200rpm hard drives on the ps3. the difference is marginal at best.
