Its all the pre-rendered HD cutscenes that demonstrate PS3's "awesome 3D graphics!"

some people truly believe because Harrison said that they aren't denying cutscenes, that all of a sudden all games are going to be all movie and no game? i don't understand why the fear is all of a sudden now... capacity has been available for some time on current gen with DVD's.. its not like they were pushin DVD's until the very end. only games to normally use an entire DVD9 were RPG's, like xenosaga ep 1 which was a LOT of movie and still fit a LOT of gameplay.

either way, read speeds won't be as much of an issue and microsoft and some numbers will lead you to believe. here's a comment from the article that was linked to from the link previously posted:

People aren't saying that the games are all movie. They are saying that Sony is filling Blu-Ray discs up with uncompressed or lightly compressed pre-rendered FMV at 1080p in order to justify having Blu-Ray in there to begin with while the game itself probably could easily fit on a DVD9 disc.

I prefer in-game cutscenes myself because the experience isn't as jarring going between the game and the FMV.

We'll have to wait and see on the load times though. I saw video of a PS3 loading up Motostorm and the time it took just to bring up the menu screen was a good 20secs or so.

Final Fantasy XIII will just be a 6 hour movie where you get to walk 15 feet between scenes

I thought PS2 was supposed to be the end of pre-rendered cut scenes? Do many 360 games use them?
