PS3 does not work with used game!?!?!?

I was in a book store today and read ina british xbox 360 magazine that PS3 disks will be encrypted so that games will only work on the host system therefore completly removing the ability to play a game at a buddies house, or more importantly, go to EBGames or ebay and pick up a used copy of a game. :Q

Can anyone confirm this.
 
that will be just about impossible to enforce unless you HAVE to have an internet connection to boot up the PS3.

I bolded the important of your post that makes me believe that it's a load of crap. I think Sony would be shooting themselves in the foot if they did this, but who knows.

hmm a Xbox360 magazine stateing the PS3 will not play used games? hmm should we beleive that?

not to mention it would KILL the PS3. I sure would not buy it IF true.
 
People at Sony have stated that this rumor is a complete lie, it does not have such a capability. They said this nearly a month ago, you are really behind on the times.

If you really care about this kind of stuff, KEEP UP ON THE NEWS!!!!
 
I doubt it. Developing this would A) Cost way too much money and B) Would be counterproductive (so people don't buy PS3 products) and C) Would be impossible to enforce
