PS3 coop games?

preslove

Lifer
Hi, so I just got a ps3 from the black friday bundle. I also bought SF4 and Sonic racing to play with my gf. I'm looking for some games to play with her coop. I know there's little big planet, and am thinking of getting a copy of marvel ultimate alliance or the lego marvel game. What are some others?

I got Dragon's Crown recently and I recommend it as well. Great game and the co-op is fun.

The Lego games in general are also very good for co-op. I enjoyed Lego Star Wars, Lego Harry Potter, and Lego Lord of the Rings. I haven't tried Lego Marvel but I plan on it.

On top of that there are PSN titles like PixelJunk Monsters/Shooter/Eden which I have played and recommend, as well as many others I haven't played.

Diablo 3 just recently came to PS3 and I hear it is fun to play couch co-op. I haven't tried it personally though. Be warned that the expansion, Reaper of Souls, isn't planned for PS3 as far as I know.

If your GF likes shooters, Borderlands 2 has a local co-op mode. Again, I haven't personally tried it.

Resident Evil 5 is one of the BEST co-op games available on the PS3. It's a true co-op game, not just 2 people playing on the same screen. I don't think you can play co-op locally though.

I remember playing RE5 local co-op on the 360. Not sure if it's different for the PS3.

My brother and I do online co-op, things might be a little different for couch co-op, but our favorite (non-FPS) co-op games would be:

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - very fun game

Dead Nation (PSN) - not a FPS, but a top-down shooter against a Zombie horde. The is a personal favorite for both of us

Shoot Many Robots (PSN) - Not a whole lot going for it, but it's cheap and has its moments

Portal 2 - definitely recommend this one; awesome puzzle game

I cannot, in good conscience, recommend the Lego games. My brother and I tried the Star Wars and the Indiana Jones and we just couldn't get into them. We found them both to be repetitive, frustrating, and boring. But I know a lot of others love them.

Check out co-optimus.com for game reviews that focus on co-op play and they provide a run-down of co-op features (couch vs. online play, story mode vs co-op exclusive missions, etc.)

Thanks for all the recommendations, everybody.

So, I'm pretty set on getting one of the littlebigplanets. Any opinions on whether I should get the first one or number 2?

Also, has anyone played the dungeons and dragons arcade port on PSN?

I'd jump right to 2 myself. It was free for psn+ members for a time.
