"After the crowd cleared from Sony's E3 Press Conference, those patient enough to stick around were allowed to play the interactive demos showcased just minutes before. And in accordance with these demos, that means I was able to go hands-on with the newly redesigned PLAYSTATION 3 controller."

Sounds like the controller is ripping some features from Nintendo Wii and hasn't changed much other than LOSING the vibration, thus eliminating the "shock" from dual shock... sucks to be Sony 🙂

Bah I guess losing that feature is kinda lame but I dont think it will make a difference in sales or a big difference in gaming. Sure the rumble is a nice gimmick but I dont think its the greatest thing ever.

I don't notice the vibration most of the time...

I personally won't miss the vibration much. It doesn't really help me become "immersed" in the game. I do hope they add a weight, though, if the controller really is that light. I think part of the reason the dual shock is better than the original PS controller is that it's significantly heavier.

I'll miss the vibration. I've noticed in the past that while I don't necessarily realize it's going during a game, I sure as hell notice when it's not present. I think the main reason for no virabtion is because Sony got their ass handed to them in the Immersion lawsuit (or whatever company it was). Microsoft settled with them, therefore they still have vibration.

3rd party companies will come out with alternatives anyways

I think they should build a machine that consists of mechanical hands that grab you and shake you whenever something happens in game.

then we should go play fight night round 3 or what ever..... a few mechanical fists to the face should do it
