PS3 causing odd audio interference

I run my PC and PS3 audio through a receiver (both using seperate RCA sources), and both share my monitor (PC on DVI and PS3 on HDMI). The problem is that when the PS3 RCA is plugged in I hear a weird buzzing/humming sound through my speakers, no matter what source I have selected. If I unplug the PS3's RCA from the back of the receiver the sound stops. I tried running the PS3 to the input on my computers sound card, but I got the same issue. I expect this is a grounding issue but I have no idea how to troubleshoot or fix it.

Is the ps3 on the same power strip as the rest of the components? If not, move where it's plugged in.

If it is a ground loop you should be able to remove it by using a three prong to two prong adapter (what you would use with an old outlet) although this is less than ideal. It's an easy and cheap way to see if this is the issue.

That fixed it. I just put the PS3 directly into the wall instead of using the same surge protector. I've been meaning to pick up another power strip anyways....
