PS3 burnout paradise help

It's a big update, and PS3 updates are incredibly slow for me across the board for any game. It's a pretty common PS3 complaint... just let it download and go do something else while it's loading is pretty much all you can do.
 
Is it downloading from the game or the internet? If it's through the disk that is really slow, and I haven't been able to get the wifi to work on my PS3, so that would be weird.
 
Hmmm... well most updates are downloaded through the internet. Did you get a special edition of the game or something that included all DLC? It might be something like that, and it has the files on the disk that it needs to download. I've never heard of a game that works that way but it's possible.
 
Or it could be one of those games that require an HDD install to play (like Infamous IIRC). Since the bluray drive is so slow some games have required installation to keep load times down, so it could also be that.
 
Paradise has been out for a while, and the devs have been AMAZING with updates over the life of the game so yea, there are quite a few updates to be downloaded.
