So i have my brothers PS3 and I have the monitor listed in sig. My VGA box makes PS3 games looks like garbage. I was wondering if i picked up an HDMI to DVI adapter if that would display 720P on my monitor while I use the AV cables for sound? My monitor has no speakers but I hear a lot of people hook their PS3 up to it anyway.

Will HDMI video and AV audio work simultaneously?
 
Yep.

In the PS3 menu, select HDMI output for video, but for audio, select the AV Cable for Stereo Sound.
