PS3 as Media Player

Several people here stream media to their PS3's. I was just wondering if some of you could point me in the right direction for best practices.

I think I will use TVersity to stream, but was wondering what programs/formats you use to rip and stream DVDs and Blu-Rays.

DVD = ? as VOB ?
Blu-Ray = ? as MKV ?

Don't rip Blu-ray myself - not sure about how to do it - but you can find them online. MKV->mp4 is your best bet - Use GOTSent to do that.

DVD->AVI is my preference - I use FU Wizard to do that.

Google those names and you'll be set. Free downloads for each.

For the love of baby Jesus, please don't use MKV. TVersity doesn't have native support for MKV. Rip it to Xvid. Fairuse Wizard is pretty popular and easy to use if you've never done this before.

Xvid is the best I would say.

But in all honesty. I am a bit lazy to rip my own dvd's so I DL them. But have a copy of every movie/show I've downloaded in my bookshelf for dvds/blu rays.
