There is still no way to buy Wii or PS3s wholesale. There are only rumors of Wii production and PS3 has not hit production in any way, shape or form.

And as for wholesale, yes, you will need a reseller license, which you can only get if you have a Ficticious business license or a permit to do buisness in your particular city. The first thing you should do is visit your town hall and get the appropriate paperwork. This is more or less an application that tells the city what you are planning on doing. Some things are regulated, and you must do certain things to comply with your state regulations., such as there are only x number of porn buisnesses that are allowed in your city, or you plan on running it near a children's school, things like that. Next you will need to visit your state's board of Equalization to get the actual reseller license. They require things like your buisness licenese proof of who you are. You will also get to choose to pay your taxes on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
Then if you are really serious, I would suggest getting a buinsess account at a bank like BofA or a credit union. Then when you cash cecks or whatever it goes to a non-personal account. It will also make it easier to prove or disprove your tax liability come when you taxes are due (based on what you told your tax board you want). Don't forget, running all this is tax deductible, as it is essential to running your buisness, so keep receipts for everything and hold on to them for 7 years.
Second, you will need to get yourself to a wholesale distributor like Ingram Micro. They will want three things, your reseller license, your credit information and on what terms, and then your banking information. Just keep in mind, these places are not like loans, when you buy something, you need to pay them regardless if you actually sell. So when they say net 15 or net 30, you have 15 or 30 days from when they bill you to pay your entire bill. I suppose you can place it all on a credit card, but if you are paying interest on product that you haven't push out the door, then you are losing money.
I would imagine that it owuld be tough to get a significant number of these units, as I think demand is high, so larger companies will have already picked up the available units when they are available. And trust me, wholesale distributors won't blink an eye shafting your order for 300 units when places like Toy R Us, Gamestop, Sears, and Walmart are picking them up in the hundred of thousands and have established credit, instead of a new guy. Especially if you only plan on putting 10 percent down.

This guy knows what he's talking about. I opened up a business to resell electronics, mainly pc parts. After the $100 or so for a business license, and $75 for a registered business name(this is florida) and then all the faxing & phone calls you make, I dont think it ends up very profitable if you are just planning to do this to make money from console sales.J Drake is right, A $6 discount aint all that great for the ammount of effort and fees you will incur. If you wanna make money, just preorder the max ammount at every major retailer in your area.

even if you think the PS3 will not be as sucessful as the predecessors, you can't deny the selling potential of the innitial batch on ebay selling to rich idiots whos willing to shell out 1000 to be the first on his block to own a new console
