You probably want to also disable subtitles as well. most mkv movies have them in there and if it triggers subtitles, pms will be force to transcode/encode the video to get the subtitles in there. so in short, check that box that has use tsmuxer when it detects supported ps3 video and disable subtitles. 720p movies are about 4~5gb and should be no issue with 802.11G. lastly, dont worry about missing around with the bandwidth/bitrate settings within pms, that only affects files that it needs to be converted. if it plays the mkv natively, the bitrate will be whatever the VBR is within that moobie.

as other have said

ive been using it for a while handles everything. there are some settings you have to tweak to get the streaming correct because if you have a really fast computer you can toss data at it too fast and it ill crash

im using the latest beta build http://www.ps3mediaserver.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=14&sid=a02e4ed12cc6e8a6d990fb9836a87330 as the non beta one i had was having issues on a few files

Thanks for that link, I've been looking for a replacement to TVersity for a while.

I checked tsmuxer settings and disabled subtitles. It's much better now and most of my 720p mkv will play studder free over WiFi but few still won't play right. And I can't fast forward or rewind at will. It still can't replace my Apple TV /w XBMC as that will play anything I throw at it. It also has no problem downloading and playing subtitles and fast forwarding and rewinding.
