PS3 80GB to run 5.1 via PC Speakers

What sound card do I need to make PS3 take advantage of my Klipsch 5.1's ?

What does it have to do with an actual PC?

If you actually want it in surround sound, you'll need some sort of standalone dolby decoder with the proper outputs to get it to your speakers.

Your X-fi should work assuming it has the Drive Bay Module.

The Drive Bay module has an S/PDIF Input, so you would go PS3 -> Xfi Drive Bay, then configure the Creative Software to accept the input (its off by default I believe).

I ran a similar setup for awhile, but I only have the Klipsch 2.1's ( still much better than the Monitors speakers)

Doesn't your Klipsch have any inputs? I have my PS3 connected via digital optical to my computer speakers. My PC is connected to the speakers via coax digital.

Mine didn't, not sure about the 5.1's though.

OP does it not work at all, or is it just not 5.1 ?

I know I have had this working using the X-fi as a passthru, and I am 95% sure I was already on Vista Home Premium.

Unfortunately I don't have the card anymore to figure it out...
