PS3 60GB version for $549 no rebates

shipping would be $20 for me in VA, not bad, you save about $50 since you don't have to pay taxes. still an overpriced hunk of plastic and metal considering the games available for it.

Not bad, maybe if they have some decent games and drop it to $499 or less by Black Friday, I might get one.

You can get one for $499 now (+ tax & shipping ) from SonyStyle.com if you sign up for a Sony/Chase credit card ($100 cash back).

When I checked a week ago they even had the 20 GB model ($499 - $100 = $399 + tax & shipping).

Blu-ray is outselling HD-DVD discs 2 to 1 so far this year, and netflix carries all US blu-ray releases.

If you want blu-ray then either PS3 is a good deal, otherwise the xbox is still better for just games.

About the games - within a year you know they'll both be great for games.

Still a good deal though.

Yeah, I waited a year to get a 360 so have to agree with that. I guess if you're looking to get into uplevel definition movies AND get a game system then it's a good deal.
