Has anyone tried to use a USB network adaptor with their PS2 for network play?

I found this online and i was wondering if this was an alternative way to get online with the playstation 2.

There's always the Official PS2 Network Adapter. I don't know how it connects to the PS2 though. But that is a good use for the USB port on the PS2, I always wondered why they put USB ports on a console.

Buying a Network Adapter is only good for Online games. Like SOCOM or THPS Online. So it's a total waste unless you have online games. I was looking at CompUSA for a network adapter, but I found out, so I bought Kingdom Hearts. It's an awesome game.
