PS2 splitter on a single PS2 port?

Sent in the rebate on a Gigabyte 880GA-UD3H, then went to install it and discovered (too late) that it only has a single comboPS2 port. I know I should have realized it sooner, but I have never seen one before.

The reason I don't want to use a single PS2 mouse (or keyboard) in conjunction with the other being USB is that I have a KVM setup with three computers (all PS2 Mouse/Keyboard).

So is there a PS2 splitter that works? Newegg doesn't seem to have one.

Thanks,

John

The PS2 splitters do not work on the Gigabyte boards. I tried two different brands. Neither worked. I ended up using the keyboard alone on the combo PS2 port and the PS2 mouse on the green side of a USB to PS2 adapter / splitter.

similar to this:

That worked. The reason I didn't hook both the keyboard and the mouse to the USB adapter is because I felt that if something happened, it would be easier to get into the BIOS with the keyboard on the native PS2.

Why Gigabyte chose to eliminate a PS2 port and come up with this combo port is beyond me? For those of us with KVM PS2 / VGA setups it's a PIA.

there are active usb to 2 ps/2 adapters out there. i know because i have one. so you could get oneo fthose.

That was the only way to get the Mouse to work at all was with one of those. However, the assigned button commands do not work. Example: Set the center button to "back", it does not work in a browser via the active USB to Ps2 adapter.

I just got a Motherboard with this PS2 combo port,& I have not seen any splitters to buy yet. I also have a 4 port KVM setup with 4 PC's.
I have been using the IO gear USB to PS2 adaptor.
It works great. There are others that don't work great on boot up when you need to get into the Bios. I could not get into the Bios using a different adaptor. The "TREND net TU-PS2" adaptor did not recognize mouse or Keyboard on boot up. Was ok only after full boot to windows.
Only the IO Gear I have works when I need to get into the Bios & works great with my 4 port KVM.
