Hey guys, what is a good set of speakers (4.1 or 5.1) speakers for the PS2? I want to get my bro a good set for his PS2 for gaming and DVD. Thanks guys!

A receiver and some good speakers is your best bet if you want something for games and HT.

Yea, I was thinking about that, but didn't want to spend that much. I was looking for something like the Cambridge FPS2000, you know like 4 or 5 satellites and a sub that would plug right into the PS2 unit. Will something like this work? Thanks for the input guys.

PS2 only has stereo output and Dolby Digital passthrough to a HT receiver.

If you get 4.1 speakers, you'll have to split the stereo output in two and get the same sounds from the front and rear speakers. (which kinda negates the point of getting 4.1 speaker...)

The best would be a cheap HT-in-a-box that has DD decoding. (or 5.1 speakers that have a decoder like DTT2500/3500, Midiland 7100)
