Are there any PS2 games that support HD? If so, do I need a component cable in order to output in HD? Is it worth it?

And just like most PS2 games.... what is special about GT4 is not that it supports 480p, it's that its the only PS2 game that supports 1080i.

There is a difference but not enough to blow you away. I'm only speaking for GT4 being played on my Dell 2405.

PS2's Gran Turismo 4 can do 1080i?

I didn't think the PS2 could do this? Does anybody have a screenshot of this?

I thought I remember reading that it isn't true 1080i. It just upscales the picture to 1080i. I may be speaking out of my rear...I dunno.

ps2+2405fpw=teh suck

i take that back... 1:1 looks outstanding, however the size of the window with your game in it is about the size of a deck of playing cards.

sorry, thats whats called marketing hype. it does 640x1080i. lets see, 1080i is 1920x1080:p oops:p basically it can do this because it just draws 640x540 each 1/60 of a second. much less burden, but much less actual detail. real 1080i is 2megapixels, gt4 is 2/3 of a megapixel. and theres always the loss of detail due to interlacing.
