PS2 Pre Order Due in DEC 1st.....for 299.00

Hi all, I found a vendor that looks legit, but has no secure server. I called and placed my order by phone on Friday, and spoke the the order clerk. She told me that they have secured 2% of the Playstation 2 units due in before Christmas. The site is Families On Line, it looks professional, check it out and see what you think. http://www.fol.net/....I order one, it will make a nice Christmas present for my children. They said units will ship the week of Dec 1st.

strike 2: they charge your card as soon as you order (egghead)
strike 3: recourse if not before x-mas not stated?

the main evils are the facts that they charge your cc before shipping, and the lack of a secure server.

Plus, Sony has shared with this merchant, who no one has heard of, the exact percentage of units they will receive compared to everyone else?

Sounds very fishy.

Once they charge the card, they have 30 days to deliver or I think you are allowed to dispute the charge. Wait till Nov 4 or so, order, no PS2, then you dispute the charge first week of December. I've decided to wait until they go below $200, or I can pick up GT3 and PS2 at the same time. Whichever comes first.

I spoke with an operator, claimed to have sold 800 from last Wednesday... can anyone verify if FOL is a legit company? Any information about them?

I would NOT trust this, I may be way off here you guys, but this looks like it might be an elaborate atempt to rip people off. I will admit when first looking at the site it looks like a good site, but if you click on any of the other products "for sale" on the site it redirects you to another site. If you look on the site there is almost no content, just links to other sites. Here is another little bit of information... I decided to do a dns look up:

This means that this site was either CREATED, or renewed just a little over 2 weeks ago... I belive it was created. I will admit if this is a rip off deal it is very well done. I dont know how they could get away with it either. Im not saying this is a scam for sure, but look at the facts...

They could not have secured 2% of the playstation units before Christmas. Only a HUGE vendor could even come close. Only someone like K-Mart or Target could do that. Hear me now and believe me later...

OHHHHH DAMNN I feel stupid...
I just saw oct 19, well anyway, they STILL dont have anything real for sale on the site. My position stands that it is very likely to be a rip off, im going to slink off in a corner for now and see what happens.
