I'd like to use an old Playstation controller with my PC to use with emulators. What's the best product or method for doing this?

I've seen the adapters I just didn't know if they were all about the same or if one was much better.

I looked at the logitech ones but some of the reviews make it sound like a piece of crap. So many bad reviews on newegg for some of them. Maybe I can find one locally that way if it does suck it's easy to return.

I've got a super dual box pro usb adapter. It works great and I only paid 7 bucks for it. Definitely much better than shelling out for PC controllers.

Just keep in mind those USB adapters will have a very slight, almost imperceptible lag. I dunno if its USB adapter itself, or the USB interface, but its enough to throw of your mario games. Makes a big difference for some games, none at all for others. But Ive yet to find a better controller for the PC than the PS2 one...if youre doing emulators, you need a quality dpad, and short of a super nintendo controller, the PS2 is the best youll find for that.

Which type do you have? I've owned a single port Radio Shack branded version, and I also have a 2 port model I got at Frys. Neither has any noticeable lag (and I play plenty of platformers on it).

Both models are are recognized by Windows Xp, and no extra drivers are needed.

The main reason I like got them is because I have extra dual shocks sitting around, and I prefer the feel of them to most PC joypads.

Logitech Gamepads

I own a cordless model and it works extremely well.

QFT, I have 2 Rumble pad IIs and they have been going strong for years, and are used everyday and have never failed me.
