PS2 on Projection TV

iono but playin madden sure does suck. For kicking you press a button and a meter goes up and you need to press again to get the best kicks at the right time.....the lag with projection screens messes it up🙁

ok heres the story

you can get burn in

burn in is really phosphor burn

i read online a really easy way of thinking about it--- your "guns" in ur rptv have photons in them and they are like a battery....they come fully charged and when it starts shining the same photon (like the colors) in the same spot (health meters, scoreboards etc) it wears down the photon

"changing the channel" or "only playing for short amounts of time" doesnt work because its a gradual thing....hence the whole battery analogy

so me personally...i play xbox on my 51" hitachi rptv

but i have done everything i can to lessen the chances of burn in (i have none yet and ive had it for a year)....first of all...i usually dont play the same game alot....like ill play a game for a few weeks then get sick of it so that may be what is saving me...another thing...VERY IMPORTANT-- SET YOUR CONTRAST VERY LOW...like mine is in the 30s...
it must be well below the half way point...contrast is the burn-in killer....and dont have ur brightness too high either however brightness doesnt nearly affect it as much as contrast....

also wathc out for the 4:3 and 16:9 bars on top bottom or left right...those black bars can be burn in too

hope this helps

Best advice I can give is to get an AVIA calibration DVD.

Oh, about the burn-in? Don't use the TV and you'll be fine. 😉

Just don't play for extended periods of times..like <3hrs and you will be fine. Also, adjust your contrast (picture).

I've been playing PS2 and GC on my 55" Mitsubishi for over a year now. I have a properly set contrast, so I've little to worry about.

niwi7 gives great advice, head it wisely, especially the part about the contrast. Playing your PS2 on your projection TV will not harm it if you know what to do and what not to do.

Do an informed google search, and you should find all the info you need.

bump bc im interested in who else plays vid games on rptv and if any1 here has gotten burn in with a correctly set tv

My nephew and I have played hours and hours and hours of Madden on my RPTV HDTV and it's just fine.

Just don't pause the game and leave the TV on for hours. Just use common sense.
