just read this article on cnn that microsoft will not follow the price drop.
still not sure about GameCube

Yea it dropped $20 because the next package will be the slightly updated PS2 plus network adapter for $200.

As was speculated earlier in the day today, EBWorld is now listing the Sony Playstation 2 for $179.99. In somewhat of a surprise, they also list the Microsoft Xbox for $179.99. At this time there is no change in the price of the Nintendo GameCube.

PS2 should be given away for free with the prices on those games, 50 bones a pop, haha...Personally I only play 2 games, Fifa 2002 and NCAA Football 2003...GO PSU.

I remember when the PS2 just came out and I was buying them at Walmart.com and selling them on Ebay for $750 a pop. And now you can get the for less than $200!
