PS2 Network Adapter...is it out yet?

I called Babbages this morning and they said they were sold out. EB said they were getting them tomorrow. Best Buy and CC neither one had it in but were expecting them soon.

Just wondering if it actually shipped to stores yesterday or if there has been a slight delay. Two people I spoke with mentioned that it was a day getting out, so they were expecting them tomorrow.

I picked one up today from Best Buy at 11am. They were just opening the boxes so I had perfect timing.

Don't own a PS2... but curious anyway -- Is there any software to go w/ the adapter? What can you use it for right away that people are buying them up in bunches?

Madden 2003 supports it. That is reason enough for me.

Right out of the box, it doesn't do too much....but there are a few games out that support it. Mainly the new NFL games and SOCOM, which shipped yesterday.

Just picked it up at Best Buy. They had around 8 of them, saw quite a few around the store with them as well..

yep, but sony is pulling another shortage stunt so people will buy them. Some places are sold out for 2 weeks.

Wow, a PS2 network adaptor? Rock on! I can't imagine this plugs into anything else but the obvious USB ports, right? I guess this is one of the expansions that they're there for. My new roommate has a PS2 and will probably be with me for a year... might be worth looking into. We have a T1 here in the dorms.

Actually I think it goes into the Expansion bay on the bacK...don't hold me to that tho

I haven't been able to try out Madden 2003 online yet.. My lan cable isn't long enough since the TV is in the next room and theres a huge wall the cable must go around. I must buy myself a 50' one now.

Its out, but the only real chance that you'll get one is if you're there when whatever store you're at opens up their shipment of them.

We recieved a grand total of 4 at my store, 3 of which were reserved. The one up for sale was sold 10 minutes after we opened.

Sony isn't pulling a shortage. You just have to look at the market and wonder if there are really enough people that want this type of item. If you really wanted one in the first place, you should have reserved it anyways.
