PS2 ModChip Installation - How Difficult?

Finally got a PS2 and wanna slap a modchip in this sucker. Its a version 9 PS2 and I wonder how difficult will it be to solder this chip on. There are no easy ones for this version, like usb or just plug in ones, but it has to be soldering ones. My mom solders for a living in a high-tech company, so would her skills be enough for this task. No way do I wanna pay $60+ to get it installed (the hot deals forum gave me a whole new outlook on how to spend $$$ wisely =D ).
