ps2 mod chip forums?

Btw...why would i need a modchip? For playing import/backup games? Is that all it does? I just read here on ATOT that there's a DIVX player, assuming you have a mod chip installed.

I've done the install for the mod chip that lets you play imports. I think that's the Neo(?) chip? Supposedly the hardest one to install. After doing it I can see why.

ps2ownz.com has a nice forum. if you want to play divx in all it's glory, the xbox can do it w/ a little tweaking.

I'll need to get a mod chip by March.. Initial D game for PS2 comes out in Japan then.. What's a good one for just playing imports?

Initial D eh? Do you know of any previews of the game that i could see? Well we bought it for our playstation... a couple of years ago... it was pretty cool too bad i couldn't understand japanese...

I'm looking at the magic 2 too, but to play US games instead since I have a Japanese PS2.

The look of disappointment on my hallmates faces when they asked me if they could borrow my PS2 and I say yes but it won't play US games was quite priceless though. (and no, I didn't like them too much)

I don't know of any previews on the game, I'm just hoping it's like the arcade counter-part, which it should be.
