I hope I put this in the right forum (if not, then I hope one of the Happy Mods will move it where it ought to go for me).
I just opened up my brand spanking new Playstation2 this morning, and once I'd figured out how to hook it up, stuck a memory card in the appropriate slot and fired up Armored Core 2. The problem - I kept getting the message that it couldn't find the memory card in slot 1. It was most definitely in slot one, but just to be sure, I pulled it out and stuck it back in again, hit reset and still got the same message.
I've tried three different memory cards now (two different brands), so I'm reasonably sure it's the PS2's problem, not the memory cards. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Anyone have any suggestions? Was there a trick to using these that's different from the PS1?

I figured it out on my own. PS2 Memory cards only work with PS2 games after you configure them, and don't work with PS1 games at all (I hadn't configured the card first, just stuck it in right along with the game). As the Sony tech support guy just told me, "You do know that you need to read your manual completely, right?"
