Has anyone ever used a Playstation 2 in a moving vehicle? I just purchased the PS2 and was wondering if the kids used it in our van on our vacation whether we'd have problems with skipping? Would it be more prone to skipping if put in a vertical position vs. horizontally? Anyone had first hand experience with this??

I drove across the country taking turns with the other driver playing a Playstaion 1 in the back of my Xterra. Never had a skipping problem the whole way.

Well...PS1 if that helps. From TX to Colorado, 4 people+PS1+TV+VCR in the back of a suburban. Other than blowing out 5 power inverters during the trip, it worked fine.

That's encouraging news, except for the power inverters.

Bruno, what kind of power supplies were you using? I have a 300W w/600W peak, don't recall the brand right now, but it's a reputable brand with very good specs.

On the trip we'll be using the new PS2 w/ the vehicle's 13 1/2" flat screen and a PS1 with a 5"LCD. The inverter should handle both w/o problems according to specs.

Anyone else??

These were just like $30 jobs at Sam's. Had two of them and once they blew just picked up whatever was found on the rest of the drive at Wal-Marts or whatever. Was running a regular 19" TV and a regular VCR though

At this time I'm not interested in permanently mounting the PS2 in the vehicle, just temporary at this time for special trips. A permanent installation of PS1 in definitely a possibility for the 3rd seat passengers. However, the PS2 will be used for DVD viewing and game playing both in the van & in hotels & condos we stay at away from home and will also be used while at home.
