It comes out this month, pre-loaded with Final Fantasy XI. I don't care about the game, as I do not want another pay to play MMORPG. I'm wondering about the HDD capabilities. This much I know:

You have to have a network adapter in order for it to work. It supplies the HDD with power.
You can copy files from the memory card and back via the browser.

What I want to know is..can you rip MP3s to it? Will future games support saving directly to the hard drive? Will future games support caching of textures and things like that, for faster access times?

Any information/insight/opinions/neffage/x-box fan boi's/is/are welcome.

In other words, will the PS2 + hard drive ever get nearly as cool as the XBox?? :)

I'm hoping people start deveoping for the PS2 - the XBox world has an insane amount of stuff to try out...though I've heard that PS2 is the hardest console to program for.
