I assume it would be in the expansion bay, but the HD/ethernet card is supposed to there. Unless they moved the HD/ethernet to one of the USB ports. But then again the Japanese model doesn't have that bay. Doh... it's all a rumor right now anyways.
maybe sony gets nervous seeing that some (most) DC games look as good as the PS2 ones
and Software sales ain't too rosy....neither are hardware sales (in japan that is)
perhaps it's just another rumor to get attention to the PS2
people will say
WOW
IF I BUY A PS2 NOW I WILL HAVE A 256BIT SYSTEM NEXT YEAR
Yeah right! And leave the japanese PS2 owners hanging?
I doubt they'll do this. The PS2's powerful enough for another year or so. They should try to add more video memory then upgrade the 128Bit unit (more then enough) to 256bit.
Actually I played the GT3: A Spec demo at the SF Auto show and it didn't look too impressive. The biggest thing was lack of anti-aliasing which detracted from the overall experience. The models look great, the control was great, and the feel was even great. But my first impression was "that's all Sony first party could produce?"
But GT3 has been delayed once again (until March '00) or so I've heard *sigh*, so hopefully they're delaying it for good reason. I'd rather have a polished product then have it before next year.
Anyways, here's some photos I took at the auto show if anybody is interested. No GT3 pics though sorry! SF Auto show pics
