Neither really.

I mean, the lead designer said it would take "8 years and triple the team size of FF12" but that sounds like a terrible exaggeration.

Ya, that sounds like a bit of an exaggeration to me also, but they'd sell so many damn copies. I guess that with all the content in the game, it wasn't too time consuming to make the low-res textures, models, and maps for a game that size. By today's standards, though, it would be a lot of work to redo everything.

Shadow of Colossus is fun
FF7 is flippin' awesome.

And to comment on the remake. They already have the game engine for FF13 so I don't see why they couldn't just tackle FF7 into it. At least they'd save some time on the game engine. Also everything is already there, they'd just have to make it fit the White Engine.
