Hey guys is their any sort of a video card or adaptor that allows me to use a Playstation 2 or Game Cube on my monitor? If so, lemme know what options I have.

Thanks.!

Well, if your video card has video-in stuff, you can plug it in to that...not any better than playing on a tv though.

It's possible to hook a game console to a monitor, but why?

You'll need a part called an "upscan converter" to do this. It will convert composite/s-video/component video signals to an RGB signal suitable for a monitor. They usually run between $50-100.

Hate to bring up an old thread...but in my bedroom i have NO room for tv :). I have a 21" G500 monitor so I figured I might as well use that...especially since these new consoles are dirt cheap, it'd work out for me .

You could use a TV tuner card. I have an All-In-Wonder card that came with an adapter for RCA inputs.
You will lose some picture quality that goes into the signal conversion...but it does work.

And hey, TV on the PC, too :)

Get the Viewsonic TV Tuner from newegg.com. My friend has one and it works beautifully.

My friend has VGA box for his dreamcast, it works well, I think it was around 20 dollars (he works at Funcoland-> like a EB if you don't have one).

Yes the VGA box works great on dreamcast, but that's because dreamcast was designed to include vga output. PS2 was not, not sure about gamecube, but there is some post saying you can mod a composite cable to run on your monitor. Anyway, a tv card or third party vga box for the ps2 will not look half as good as the dreamcast vga box. Seeing it is your only option to play games in your room, you might have to settle with one of thoes options.
