This is correct, but there is a newly built Walmart in White Plains (where the Galleria Mall is). It's about a 25 minute ride from the Bronx. Maybe you can try there if it's not to far for you.

Bump for funboy42 and some info. Apparently he is on a small hiatus and can only read the forums and not log in. Any correspondence should be made with him via email or through me if you like:)

How do we tell if it is the 31 model or the 30? It seems like there is a big difference in quality.

On the very bottom there's a model number, SLEH-0003X. Where have you seen shots comparing a 30 to a 31?

Just got mine today, it's a 31, came bundled with Antigrav. Quality isn't bad at all for the price. It didn't seem that great at first, kinda blured, until I figured out the plastic piece around the lense can be rotated to adjust the focus and now it's nice and sharp, I'm pretty happy with it.

I bought the Kinetic game for $30 here in the DC area (couldn't find it anywhere on clearance, not at ToysRus, or Blockbuster...didn't try Walmart and Sears).

I figured that $30 on the eyetoy (plus I'll sell off the game on eBay) would be better than a cheap logitech quickcam (which are on sale now, I believe).

Oops! I was wrong about that. Image quality on my eyetoy (silver model) sucks compared to the cheap Logitech I have. Bummer...oh well, live and learn.

For $10, the eyetoy might have been worth it. But for $30...bad call on my part. :(

Have you tried adjusting the focus that surrounds the Eye Toy's lens? Image quality can look real crappy and fuzzy when not adjusted properly.

My brother checked his local Toys R Us and they didn't have anything cheap either. And there's no Walmarts in NYC.

*sigh*

I even ran around to 2 different blockbusters before giving up =(

i live in nyc but work in CT, the whitestone Queens one and the norwalk CT one both had these left this was last time i checked, before this was even posted. (there was a post in CAG a long time ago about this clearance)

My brother checked the whitestone one and it was out, and I checked the TRU on northern blvd (near manhattan) and that was out. Didn't check the Douglaston one though.

Heh my friend used to live in norwalk, didn't even know there was a Toy R Us there though.

Oh? Didn't know that. But going out there requires paying a toll (at least from where I am), which is basically anal rape lol

Come to think of it, I think I found out one day that there's actually a Walmart on Long Island all the way out...might check there someday...when I'm bored lol

I bought one from Best Buy for $30 ( I was in a need for one in emergency and I remember seeing this thread).

The model # is 34, but the posts here are regarding 30 and 31. I was wondering if anyone has tried this particular model out and if it's quality is good as the 30 and 31.

I'm going to attempt to install it tonight after work.

the quality of the cam that i received is pretty good
if i am not broadcasting the picture is very very good
the only thing is on trillian/yahoo superwebcam slows a bit too much
seems choppy but thats not a problem with the camera
its most likely and issue with my bandwith, comcast uploads arent that quick
for 20 bones this is worth it

i compared the camera with my sisters logitech 5000 and the picture quality is equal
that camera was 49 at buy.com last time i checked, not sure what the price is now
the software that comes with the logitech is a bonus i suppose as it allows you to do much more with the camera

if i was to chose id still go with the eye toy for the price/performance ratio can't be beat

My camera also seems very choppy when using it on MSN, especially compared to a friend's cheapo IBM cam. Maybe a driver issue?

Since this was bumped back up...
I cant get some webcam aps like Microsoft Timershot to recognize this camera. It works fine with the vidcap32 so it works, just not with some applications. Anyone else have this problem or better yet a solution?
