ps2 experts, give me some opinion on what to buy

i am currently looking to get a ps2. and after some search, i have found a few good deals, but i don't know which ones to buy.
please give me some opinion on what is the best price/preformance value, and what to stay away.

package1 brand new premod ps2 version 7
with Messiah 2 Pro 1.30 --> $460 CAD
or
with DMS3 v2 --> $495 CAD

package 2
1 month old PS2 system with one controller and a 8m memory card(Still have warrenty), it had been moded so can play any cd or dvd game, it is direct boot (mod with Magic 3.6)

i understand that with DMS 3 V2 chip, i can use my ps2 as a all region free dvd and Divx Player.(i already have a stand alone dvd, but only take region 1 DVD)
Messiah 1.3pro is most reliable, but offer no extra in terms of feature (compare to DMS 3 v2) or in term of Price (compare to Magic 3.6)
Magic 3.6 is the cheapest, but not as reliable as Messiah 1.3pro. unless i install an on/off manuel switch. then it's just like messiah.
that is the information i found from the internet, please feel free to correct any wrong information.
i have to take one ps2 system tonight. so i need some serious advise.

and you get 2 of teh best PS1 games also in Chrono Cross and Legend of Dragoon.

and yoy geta mem card thats like 20$ you dont have to spend. cause yull need one regalrdless of which one you buy

Clearly package 3 comes with the best games but the system isnt modded. If having a chip in your PS2 isnt a high priority then go with #3, otherwise choose between one of the other two.
