Here in Europe the Playstation 2 will be released in 2 weeks.
It left me with some questions. I haven`t had time to really read and investigate all about the ps2 reviews. So i`m hoping that somebody will awnser them here,

Most importantly,
1) How is the DVD playback quality? As good as a normal tv dvd player?

2)What was the introduction price in the US? Is it still available or is it still sold out for weeks to come?
3)How about the games? Are they any good yet?

Thanks,

Lets see...

1) the dvd playback is just dandy... if you dont mind using a ps2 controller to control playback. (or if you get the optional remote) but I wouldnt use the ps2 for a DVD player, simply because the more something gets used, the more it will have a tendancy to break... plus i already have a dvd player. the dolby digital on the ps2 also only has an optical out, not analog which really sucks in my book simply because my Soundworks DTT2500 dont have optical-ins.

2)Introduction price:$299.99 If you dont have one, the only way you'll get one for the next few months is on EGay paying much more than its worth.

3)The games? well out of 26ish launch titles, all the ones ive played have been top notch however I have heard that the ones that I have played are the only good ones. Currently, I have Tekken Tag, DOA2: Hardcore, TimeSplitters, Madden2k1, and SSX.

SSX is a must have, and for multiplayer gaming, Timesplitters rules (but the single player is just a bunch of CTF missions) Im quite happy with the ps2.
